What other factors would you like to see here?
I do like to see a 404 check for broken links, both internal and external, but adding that here would slow down the tool too much. Besides, Xenu is great as a free download that checks your entire website for broken links.
I also believe sites should have a static sitemap too, and we may be adding a check for that sometime soon.
We have intentionally left out counting inbound links, because we’re checking “on page” SEO factors, and we don’t want to deal with API issues from the search engines. Obviously they are a huge ranking factor, but not relevant for this tool.
What other factors are left that should be added?
Also, I’d really like to see some feedback or criticism, whether good, bad or indifferent! Can you take a minute to tell me what you think?

I really like the idea of this plugin. I am having some trouble with my category links now though. For some reason I can’t get them to display now.
I’m wondering if perhaps your category links are controlled through some premium theme?
Hi, have a look at this suggestion at http://marketinggossip.blogspot.com/2009/04/seo-perspective-on-301-permanent.html
You’ll also need to age your links and direct them to proper page.
i used the credit to run a report. when i would link to something to learn more and then back up to go back to the report i get an expired message and now my report credit is gone.
isn’t there a way to save the report so i can study it and your suggestions?
I’m sorry – all the links should open in new windows – Anyway, i’ve added two more credits for your trouble, i’m sorry
the tool needs to omit meta keywords and description as they dont affect a sites placement on google, yahoo or bing/msn so really only apply to 0.0001% of real searches!
Thanks, but I think I’m pretty clear on why I leave both included in the tool.
You NEED unique descriptions, and it even tells you so in Google Webmaster Tools. While you’re correct that it doesn’t affect ranking, it does affect reader click through, and a page without a unique description tag should never exist..
Also, re: meta keyword tags, I think spell it out pretty clearly that I’m in the minority among those SEO’s that still prefer them, and exactly why. Also, Yahoo does seem to still use ‘em despite their claims to the contrary. Used wisely, they cannot possibly hurt you, and can ONLY help.
Thanks though, for the time you took to comment. I appreciate it…
Is there an option or version that reviews all the pages on a site, or at least within a site section? I think my review was only on my home page, which is of course the most important, but I was hoping to get an overview of how all my pages are doing.
Thanks for any help or tips.
Matt
Well the concepts taught by each review are certainly applicable from page to page, but no, there’s no all encompassing review of every URL in your site. The tool checks whatever page you enter, so if you want to check another page on your site, simply paste in that URL instead of the home page.
You say i get a free report, but when I ran the report, it said i dont have enough credits to run that report… so disappointed :/
I’ve added 2x reports to your account, I’m sorry. It sounds like a glitch…
Looks like we’re having problems – the tool is failing, and I’ve noted it by the type-in window, I’m sorry…
