Glad you like it Walt, thank you.

1. The Bots all look for a robots.txt, so this simply checks if one exists, then creates a default one, if not, cutting down unwanted 404's. Admittedly, lmore of an SEO thing than a WP thing though...

2. Good point, and yep, I agree that we should add it as an option, but off by default, and we may try it for the next release. (For anyone reading that doesn't know how - <a href="http://activeblogging.com/info/how-to-turn-on-xmlrpc-in-wordpress/" rel="nofollow">check this</a>. Thanks - best suggestion we've had so far! ;)

3. Yes, there's a privacy page, a contact page (not a form, sorry, we cant get into the support potential) and maybe even add / name your own additional pages coming with next version.

Answers:
Our canonical fix was originally included, but I removed it at the request of Michael from Semper Fi / All in One SEO - We agreed that he could handle it better, so nope, no conflicts

We only include those two other plugins for menu ordering and exclusion, and when we asked their permission, they did agree to let us know whenever they update. When that happens, yes we'll update, but we don't check to include an update unless they notify us. To my knowledge, they've only pinged us once

(Also note that our next version may wait until after WordPress 3.0 is out since it's right around the corner)

thanks again!

Hey, great plugin. Saves me a ton of time (and I'm an experienced WP geek). Couple suggestions:

1. Most plugins that interface with the robots.txt file are geared toward the virtual version of the file - including the xml sitemap - so the option to add robots.txt to the root seems counterproductive.

2. Since many blogs use XML-RPC for autoposting, an option to turn that on in the writing options would be nice.

3. How about (a) privacy policy, (b) contact form, (c) spam prevention, (d) ping optimizer plugins? Are they planned for the mix?

Now - questions:

Will there be any canonical conflicts with the All-In-One canonical code?

Since you embed other code from plugins, do you update your plugin whenever those other plugins change?

I'm sorry, but there is no version of Core Tweaks that is specifically written in German, or any language other than English, so there's nobody with the "distribution rights". I'd be happy to let someone translate one into any language, as long as it remains free. If anyone's interested, feel free to get in touch.

I was unable to duplicate the problem on new or existing installs of Wordpress for the "unwise to use admin" message.

For everyone who is having this issue, can you please provide more details?

The latest version of Core Tweaks is 2.4 - is this the version you are using?

I see above that using WP 2.8.6 has already been answered "yes", but are the blogs new installations or pre-existing?

Do you have 2 main menus showing on the right of the admin area? One that says Core Tweaks and also one that says SEO Automatic? (If you have a very early Core Tweaks from it's test phase - it is possible that the plugin could be double installed. Those early versions were sent to beta testers who were hand-notified when updates became available, but it's not uncommon for early versions of plugins to get passed around or found on the internet.)

Any additional info you can think of might help track down the problem.

On the comment: "Also, I don’t have a "core tweaks" menu under settings. I do have a completely seperate "SEO Automation" section however."

That is correct - Under installation and FAQs of the plugin download page (and also above) you can see that the menu is located: "Set options in SEO Automatic > Core Tweaks for changing the Wordpress preinstalled installation options."
