WordPress Plugins
We are currently offering several WordPress plugins, including two premium ”white label” plugins for developers and SEO firms.
We developed them simply to automate things we were already doing manually, allowing us to focus on marketing websites instead of doing repetitive tasks.
Unique SEO Tools
Nearly all of the proprietary tools available in our membership site are available for you to run on on your own domain. We’ve included the keyword multiplier, anchor text variance, the bulk URL checker, and even the RSS feed creator. The only tool we didn’t include in this free plugin is the full SEO review!
Core Tweaks – Instant WordPress Setup
With over 11,000 downloads now from the WordPress repository, this plugin has saved countless man-hours for developers. The tasks it completes are based upon our actual checklist for every WP installation at Search Commander, Inc. and I guarantee it will save you 20 minutes minimum with EVERY free use no matter how fast you think you are at a WP setup. This is one badass plugin. Get it free here. (By popular request, in Feb 2010 the paid brandable version was made available).
Beta – SEO Automatic Affiliate Store Creator
Affiliate marketers can build websites all day long, but setting up individual pages from a data feed is tedious. This plugin enables the user to add individual WordPress pages that are pretty much SEO friendly, but it does require a decently formatted merchant datafeed.
Here’s what’s still “wrong” with it, in my opinion, and why it’s not yet at the WordPress repository.
- Search Engine Friendly urls are not yet working
- Pages are not automatically added to the sitemap.xml
- Unable to add additional merchant data fields “on the fly” during importation in WP admin
On the other hand, It’s almost too easy to build a site, assuming you have a decent datafeed, so check it out! .
White Label SEO Reviews - (Premium)
This is a full featured white label version of our SEO Automatic URL Review tool so you can brand YOUR COMPANY as the experts, as a paid WordPress plugin.
From the ranking factor definitions, to the pass / fail thresholds, to the specific information you give about how to fix anything you define as an issue, nothing like this has ever been available before.
All the editing is done from inside your WordPress admin, and the test results are displayed under your theme entirely, with no mention of Search Commander Inc. located anywhere for the end user.
What’s Next?
There is another plugin coming for adding a batch of content with future posting schedule. We’re not pushing it hard, because with a combination of other tools it’s already possible, but we hope to get it done before it moves to dead projects. If you know of anyone that has one already, please tell so we can stop wasting time!
There is at least one other expected in 2010, and a couple of more ideas that we can’t mention yet. Each will automate tasks that are already being done manually, and we think you’ll be impressed…
What’s Dead?
SEO Automatic No Followizer
Until June of 2009 the Google’s “rule” was that that nofollowed links gave more juice to the followed links. This was knows as “PR scuplting” and a variety of other names, and it was accepted as “true”, although somewhat controversial. However, in 2007, Matt Cutts told me (Scott Hendison) personally that link sculpting was “one of the few advanced SEO strategies left” and that it was “perfectly okay and white hat”.
We had been link sculpting for quite a while, and had always assumed it was “okay”, but after Google put their stamp of approval on it, we poured it on even heavier. In late 2008 when we turned the “No Followizer” into a WordPress plugin for our own use.
For SMX Advanced 2009, we were rolling it out for free distribution. Users could control the header, the footer, both sidebars, the comments and even the body links after a page refresh, all from within the edit page of WordPress.
Every link on the page was added with a checkbox to the admin, and users would simply check all” to nofollow each of them, then selectively UNcheck only the links you wanted to pass juice.
Then Matt Cutts announced at SMX that the game had changed, and link sculpting didn’t work any more, in fact hadn’t for some time. Furthermore, when asked “Then what happens to the extra Page Rank?” I believe his exact words were “You can sort of think of it as, ‘evaporating’”. Pretty great, huh? Oh well, it was fun while it lasted… ;)
SEO Automatic Backup Plugin
After 44 hours of programmer time developing a custom backup system, we discovered what appears to be the perfect automatic backup plugin what was released in Dec of 2009. It seems to do everything ours was doing, except store on your own server.
That was actually part of the hang up for us – all the different security restrictions on servers for automated file delivery by Cron.
By developing for Amazon Web Services, they seem to have solved the problem, and it looks like as of February 18, 2010 our plugin may R.I.P. and this is our chosen solution for backing up WordPress.
