Hi it seems that Core Tweaks is not completing in wp 3.3.1 eg it makes no permalink changes nor does it delete wp's test blog post and comment.

I'm sorry for the problem, and this is the first compatibility report we've had on Core Tweaks…. Have you used it before, or is this your first time?

I assume you saw in the setup area that the .htaccess file might need to be writable for the permalinks to change, but the "hello world" post should have deleted fine…

I just tested myself on a brand new domain / installation of WP 3.31 and the permalink did change and the hello world post did get deleted – Just a shared hosting account w/ typical setup, and it went fine…

Did you get a message like my screen shot below, but with a failure notice saying "why"?

I'm sorry for the hassle – Who's your webhost?

I tried the plugin again after disabling all others. Here's the output:

Sitemap Generator is turned on.
Unable to complete:
Post Teaser could not be turned off. Maybe it's already off.
Page Link could not be turned off. Maybe it's already off.
Page Order could not be turned off. Maybe it's already off.
Prevent HTML stripping from user profiles could not be set. Maybe it's already off.
If you don't understand what this means, please report it...

Host is TSOhost in the UK.

If you look art the admin screen again, you can see that near the bottom, after the "Make the Changes" button, you'll see that there is a second section for "Activate or Deactivate included Plugins" with another button for running those.

That is where the messages you've pasted come from. Those are other plugins we include and the results after trying to turn them on or off.

What you've pasted here are simply the results of that, and it does not indicate any problem. If you want the plugins off, they're off. If you want them on, then turn them on…

So… what's your question?
