Running latest version of WordPress (2.9.2) and this error has occured on the last three versions you have released for The Core Tweaks Wordpress plugin – currently 2.7.2.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare got_mod_rewrite() (previously declared in D:inetpubvhostshidden.comhttpdocswp-adminincludesmisc.php:17) in D:inetpubvhostshidden.comhttpdocswp-adminincludesmisc.php on line 19

Contents of the file affacted are :

function got_mod_rewrite() {
    $got_rewrite = apache_mod_loaded('mod_rewrite', true);
    return apply_filters('got_rewrite', $got_rewrite);
}

I don't get any errors when this plugin is not installed/activated and this error only shows up when I try and go to the Core Tweks Plugin section and not the Admin section.

Are you on a windows server?

Yes, is this a problem?

We've from time to time had errors reported on windows servers, but we do not provide support on those because we work strictly with linux/unix.

If you want to try an edit yourself on the core tweaks, I can pin point where the issue is coming from by the code you showed above.

Open settings.php from the seo-automatic-wp-core-tweaks directory.

Scroll through the code till you see include('permalinks.php');

and comment that line out using // before the word include.

This should stop your error. That particular file only runs when you use the setting to change your permalink structure using the core tweaks settings page. It attempts to edit your htaccess automatically.

Thank for the reply, Heather, and I do think we should note in the plugin admin  that "This requires the existence of an .htaccess file" or even perhaps indicate on the WP.org plugin page that it simply won't work on Windows Server?

I'm sorry for the confusion, Freedom…
