I loaded your plugin and check marked what you suggested in your video and now when I log on to my website I get an error 404 – not found coming up as my home page.

That sounds like you have things set to show your latest posts on the home page, but you also selected the option to "remove the Hello World" post, which ends up leaving you no post to show.   Just add a post and you'll have one to appear, or change the settings - 

 

settings – in WP-Admin, just go to settings > reading and make sure these settings are what you want – i.e. make sure you HAVE at least one page and one post created that you can select… I'm sorry for the confusion, this is likely the issue – It only happens if certain things get selected.
