All in One SEO vs. Platinum SEO

April 21st, 2009 by Scott Hendison

There’s a sort of competition going on among programmers to have the “best” WordPress SEO plugin. As some of you know, if you only have a few sites, and you really want some cool features, I’m still a big fan of Headspace.

However, for compatibility purposes, (because it’s frustrating to have dozens of websites turned into blank pages) I’ve been leaning heavily towards All-in-One SEO for months now.

Recenty though, the latest version of Platinum SEO has really peaked my interest, and after testing, I’m officially declaring our support for Platinum Pack, and we will ensure compatibility – for now.

However, with All-In-One SEO having 12x more downloads per day, it has a far larger userbase to keep happy. Also, Platinum SEO does appear to be simply a ripoff of All-in-One, so I’m sticking with that as our recommended solution.

So, since All in One is the most widely used SEO plugin, (and as a US based veteran owned business), we’ll continue to guarantee compatibility with our WP Core Tweaks plugin as a #1 priority.

Still, it’s neat to see the features in this “newcomer” -

You haven’t talked about which one is best?

    • Scott

I intended to be pretty clear that I was sticking with All in One, since Platinum essentially stole the code…

I gather you prefer All in One. But you also mentioned that Headspace2 is good for the smaller guy (me). I have 3 sites for my different biz ventures. So what do you think? Oh, does Headspace2 do canonical links?

    • Scott

Well, it’s a matter of simplicity, and that’s why I tend to prefer All in One – but Headspace does offer a TON of features that AIO doesn’t touch, and likely never will. If you have a need for those added features, some of which are pretty impressive, then there’s certainly nothing wrong with it…

Oh, and yes, Headspace2 does offer support for the canonical tag, and has since spring of 2009….

      thanks!

Hello, I want to know if the two SEO pack will make difference depending on the site or blog you build. I creating blog that posting essential tips and for our Youth Ministry. Which one you think is the best for my blog? I’m from Philippines… Thanks.

    • Scott

Yes, using one will make a difference, and I recommend all-in-one over Platinum

I don’t know which one the better. But up to now I use All in one SEO

Thanks for answering to my question Scott. I used now All in one and it has great plugin. Now my personal is being index by the search engine and so far so good. Thanks again.

Does it make any harm to your older posts if you switch to Platinum SEO from All in one SEO?

    • http://www.seoautomatic.com shendison

Since Platinum SEO was kind of a knockoff of AIO in the first place, I’m guessing not, no.

However, changing all of the title tags site wide is never a great idea so make sure things are configured the same…

these days though, the best SEO plugin is SEO For WordPress by far, in my opinion –
